April Webinar Recording, and May Webinar Registration: IRA Planning Nuggets
Video and slides for April, and registration for May
April Webinar Recap
Each month, I have started hosting a topical webinar for those who are interested. On April 17, I hosted a review of some portability principles that often fly under the radar. With two extremes of tax reform possibilities - on one side being a sunset and no legislative change, and on the other side being a (perhaps temporary) repeal of the estate and GST taxes - portability elections are perhaps more important than ever. But, this election cannot be looked at in a vacuum. It is often accompanied by other elections, such as the QTIP election and affirmative allocations of a decedent’s remaining GST exemption. The video and slides can be found below. (NOTE: If you attended and don’t want to pay for the newsletter subscription to access the recording, please e-mail me and I will forward you the materials.)
May Webinar Registration
If you are interested, I will host a webinar on May 15, 2025 at 1 pm ET/10 am PT on some tidbits of IRA planning that have flown under the radar. The new comprehensive Treasury Regulations for the SECURE Act 1.0 and 2.0 changes were finalized last year, with some other proposed and final Regulations recently coming into play as well. There will be about 45 minutes of instruction, with 15 minutes available at the end for questions and discussion.
While the subject of IRA planning won’t be covered comprehensively (as there is no way we could do the subject justice in 60 minutes), we will touch on some items that open up both pre-mortem and post-mortem planning opportunities and risks such as separate share rules, IRA drop-downs, and trust language adjustments.
To register, click the button below. (Please note that registration is limited to wealth transfer professionals, and is not open to individuals seeking assistance for their own personal planning.)
