Reflections
During this holiday season, if you are anything like me, there has been no shortage of activity - whether or not work-related - to keep you busy. Sometimes it can be hard to take time to sit back and truly reflect. But, my greatest wish for you is for some time to yourself. You’ve earned it.
The past few weeks have certainly kept wealth transfer professionals on the run. Uncertainty has ironically remained one of the few “certainties” in our field, especially with respect to the effects of election outcomes, what taxes might look like at the end of 2025, or even the present or future enforceability of the Corporate Transparency Act.
One year from this very moment could find us dealing with even more uncertainty. For now, I hope you can take some time to enjoy the here and now. As we move into 2025, I will be here to continue to provide you updates. And while I cannot remove uncertainty, I hope that I can slightly ease your worries and, in turn, slightly ease your clients’ worries. In the meantime, I remain grateful for your support and readership. It is an honor and a privilege to assist and serve you.
Heckerling
For those of you who plan to attend Heckerling, I will be there January 13 and 14. If you are interested in connecting, please reach out (you can do so simply by replying to the e-mail with this article).
2025 Programming
Throughout 2024, I have written about topics that are near and dear to my heart. This does not always create the most reader-friendly content.
This is where your input comes in - not just from the perspective of what topics appeal to you, but also from the perspective of allowing you to contribute if you are interested. Next week I will circulate a reader survey if you are interested in providing input.
I also have some ideas on how to use this newsletter for more of a community function. Some ideas include:
A jobs board, for readers to post opportunities;
A referral board, allowing readers to connect with peers for client referrals in other states; and
A community board (private), allowing for sharing of questions.
I have posted these in order of priority, starting with the jobs board. I will be testing this out over the next couple of months, and if you would like to post a “test” position for free please let me know.
Best Wishes
I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season, and as always please reach out if I can be a resource for you. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve you through this newsletter.
